Introduction : Monitoring activities of prong safe motherhood is one answer to the prevention of maternal mortality. These activities have a wide range of variety, with integrated helth center (IHC), ante natal care (ANC), and the intensification of mother class as the access doors. the purpose of this study was to describe the strategy pattern of maternal mortality reduction through intersification of mother class in Blacanan village Pekalongan District.
Method : this study was a qualitative research with case study approach. There were 15 informats, included 10 pregnant women in their third trimester as the key informants, and 5 companion informants (1 midwives, and 4 health cadres).
Results : the results of this study was consluded that the intensification strategy of mother class through ABG (Advocaty, Bringing up the atmosphere and Community empowerment) was quite effective to intensify the mother class, so the early detection of risk pregnancy and childbirth can be done with the impact on maternal mortality reduction. It was suggested that the intensification strategy of mother class can be done with a harmonious synergy between health centers, health providers and the target groups.
