This research is motivated by the need for the development of models of learning as perceived by teachers and learners will be a model of learning that is relevant, interesting, and through field trips in learning to write poetry. Social inquiry learning model is the right model to write poetry because it can influence students to think critically and creatively.
There are three popular learning approach writing this now, the product approach, process approach and the genre approach. Understanding of the reasons and the third criticism of this approach is very important for teachers Indonesian subjects who want to be teachers write effective. Each approach has strengths and weaknesses of each, but essentially three complementary. This paper seeks to propose a third approach that combines these approaches, namely the process genre approach is a synthesis of all three. Through the use of a process approach to this genre, subject teachers can develop the Indonesian culture of writing for their students.
