Surface cutlery should not contain the bacteria Escherichia coli. Almost all people use as a disinfectant soap to wash the dishes. Liquid soaps Brand X and Brand Y is the most widely used disinfectant society. This study aims to determine the effectiveness comparison between liquid soap with Brand X Brand Y in inhibiting the growth of Escherichia coli. This research using the bacterium Escherichia coli are available in pure Microbiology Laboratory Analyst Academy of Health (AAK) Pekalongan. This study is the Pre-Experimental Design with design Posttest-Only Design. The method used is to test the effectiveness of using the media Mueller Hinton Agar (MHA) made sinks, in this study there were 8
treatments with concentrations without dilution, dilution 3 times, 6 times, 9 times, 12 times, 15 times, 18 times, 21 times, and performed 3 repetitions of each liquid soap. Statistical analysis using ANOVA and independent T test. Results for the
comparison of the effectiveness of liquid soap Brand X and Brand Y at concentrations without dilution have the same ability to inhibit the growth of E. coli, the concentration dilution 3 times have different abilities to inhibit the growth of E.coli, the concentration dilution 6 times, 9 times, 12 time, 15 times, 18
times, 21 times do not have the same ability to inhibit the growth of E.coli. Advice for people who use liquid soap Brand X, which can be used for dilution to dilution 3 times to make it more effective in inhibiting the growth of E.coli. Then for the
company, need to improve quality in the manufacture of liquid soap products tableware.
