This study aims to determine the influence of the length of time application of electrical power, which are 0,2,4 and 6 minutes with 9 volt 5 A, performed after feeding, on the growth of ornamental goldfish (Carassius auratus) seeds on 4-5 cm size, maintained at 3 ppt salinity media.
The experiment was conducted at the labroratory of Aquaculture. faculty of fisheries, Unikal on 20 May – 28 June 2010. Research used completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments applied was the length of time application of electrical power that are 0,2,4 and 6 minutes after feeding. the data obtained through research and then analyzed using the test for normality (Liliefors test), homogenity, and the last variety of data analyzed using Tukey test. Results obtained from this study are that treatments C has thw highest yield of biomass accretion (14.1667 g), followed by treatments B ( 10.9367 g), D (9.2300 g) and A (7.6433 g). the F-test showed that the application of electrical power with different time interval at 3 ppt salinity media has very significant effect on ornamental goldfish (Carrasius auratus) seed growth rate. The range of water quality during the study are still eligible to maintain goldfish seeds, with temperature range 26 to 28oC, pH 7, and dissolved oxygen 4.5 to 5.6 ppm.
