THE TOLERANCE OF RICE SEEDS (ORYZA SATIVA) TO LIQUID WSATE BATIK GRIPPED

Batik is origin culture of Indonesia. The Batik industrial activity has a very broad impact, such as employment, economy and increasing of region revenue. The liquid waste of Batik is contain heavy metals such as Ni, Mg, Cr, Pb, Cd, and Hg, so can the environment polluting and agricultural land. The rice plant of contaminated by batik of liquid waste, decreasing of production until 20% and in real grain containing heavy metals Cd and Pb. The purpose of this study was to find the tolerance of seeds rice to batik sewage of contamination. This experiment was conducted at the Laboratory of Seed Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, Pekalongan of University. This experiment was set up in a completely randomized design factorial arranged. The first factor is 6 kinds of rice varieties, consisting of Ciherang, IR 64, Inpara 3, Inpara 5, Air Tenggulang and Inpara 2. The second factors, two kinds of irrigation containing irrigation of clean water and polluted waste of batik irrigation. The parameters were observed obtain percentage of germination and emergence of leaves, leaf of length, root of length, and number of roots. Result of experiments showed that the batik of liquid waste is not different to percentage of germination and emergence of leaves, but very influent on leaf of length, root of length and the number of roots. The decline of the percentage long leaf of growth, root of length and number of roots, indicating that the rice seeds in gripped conditions. The sequencing of rice seeds tolerant are Inpara 5 (11.98%), Air Tenggulang (16.51%), IR 64 (26.26%), Ciherang (30.89%), Inpara 2 (38.39%) and Inpara 3 of varieties (54.87%).
